What I Do
What I Do
I am a multiplatform editor passionate about how best to present stories in different, compelling ways — based on target audiences and mode.
I am an Audience Engagement Editor at The Los Angeles Times, where I’m a member of the core social team, crafting the voice of the L.A. Times on its main accounts.
I’m particularly interested in how best to contextualize major stories, both topically and historically, on social media.
Previously, I was a News Assistant at The New York Times. There, I wrote and edited as a member of the Snapchat Discover team, working on a collaborative unit with editors, animators, motion producers, designers and more. Together, we published daily editions of The New York Times on Snapchat, Monday through Friday.
In addition to my main duties on the Snapchat team, I also helped to produce content for the main Instagram account, preparing schedules, and writing and cropping on both grid posts and Instagram stories. I also wrote copy for the main Facebook and Twitter accounts when needed.
This diverse set of platforms allowed me to tell stories in different ways, depending on the assets each story package contained and the inherent advantages and disadvantages of each platform. This inspired a deep passion not only for editing, but also for audience engagement and strategy.
